We love creating WordPress plugins, this one adds a widget to display a count down to a milestone post. Say for example, you would like to show a countdown in your sidebar to the 1,000th post. The Post Countdown Plugin allows you to do just that using a customizable widget.

Installation

1. Upload ‘post-countdown.php’ to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. Navigate to ‘Appearance > Widgets’ and adjust the “Post Countdown” widget to your specifications.

How to style the widget

The list-item containing the widget is given the class of “post-countdown”. Simply add

li.post-countdown{"styles here"}

to your stylesheet.
